Nolan Ryan "383" Risograph Print
Nolan Ryan "383" Risograph Print
On the evening of September 27th, 1973, Angels pitcher Nolan Ryan took to the mound at Anaheim Stadium in his final start of the season, 15 strikeouts shy of Sandy Koufax's single season record of 382. In a marathon performance, an exhausted Ryan recorded his 16th strikeout in the 11th inning of 4-4 game extra innings game, setting a new single season record.
This risograph print is based upon a news photo showing the famous Big-A scoreboard shortly after the record-setting strike out — a record that stands nearly 50 years later.
A note about Risograph prints: We embrace experimenting with all forms of printing. Risograph, like baseball, is unpredictable. Prints often exhibit an organic graininess, misregistration, and uneven coverage. They are not perfect, and that's what we love about them.
